BASF Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) Offerings
BASF has several expandable polystyrene (EPS) offerings in its portfolio Styropor® and Neopor® thermal foam insulation. Styropor is an expandable polystyrene, known for its low weight, high shock absorption capability and excellent thermal performance. As one of the worlds most recognized and effective insulation and packaging materials, Styropor has been a market leader since it was invented in 1951.
Neopor is an innovation in insulation which uses high-purity graphite to increase the materials insulation performance. BASF integrates high-purity graphite into the polymer matrix of Neopor. This gives Neopor foam a distinct silver-grey color and boosts its insulating performance up to 20% above conventional EPS. Products in North America made of Neopor can be identified by the Neopor trademark used as an Ingredient Brand on finished goods made of Neopor.
